Right to Inclusion:

Bloom Enterprise is Making a Difference in the Lives of Adults with Different Abilities

Sara - Midland Kru Associate - Gainesville, GA

“I now can do things I never thought I could do, such as cooking sausage and speaking in front of people. When I work on my personal goals, I realize that I have an abundant life.”

Sara is 41 years old and has autism. While overcoming emotional challenges in her life, she has become an advocate providing hope for parents with autistic children/adults.

Sara joined the Bloom Enterprise’s Midland Kru Day Program at a time when her heart was filled with sadness, as she struggled to cope with her mother’s passing. She became very introverted and isolated herself to her bedroom. Her father reached out to a mental health professional who referred her to the Midland Kru Day Program. She found herself surrounded by friendship and an opportunity to increase her daily living skills, volunteer in the community, tell jokes to friends, go on field trips, and explore personal interests. She learned how to solve problems in challenging situations and continued to achieve personal goals. Her father claims that her growth and development have been life-changing for her and her family. Sara has grown into being a public representative for Bloom Enterprises, accompanying staff and board members to deliver presentations and give hope. She discovered that she loves telling others about the good things that happen when you find the Midland Kru Day Program.
