She has set up a mock radio station and welcomes people to submit songs for her to develop a playlist. Bloom Enterprises embraced Finley’s dream and organized a visit to the WCON radio station where Finley experienced being “live on the radio”.

Finely is 30 years old and was born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and is on the autism spectrum. She uses her musical talents to follow her dream of working as a DJ.

Finely joined the Bloom Enterprises’ Midland Kru Day Program to support her personal goals. She found a community of friends who count on her to lead exercise and dance activities, and share camaraderie while laughing at jokes.

Finley’s goal is to become a DJ. She recognizes that she needs to build coping skills for her anxiety and dealing with stressful situations in order to fulfill her dream. She is not ready to go “out there” to work as a DJ as many logistics need to be worked out. Finley gets daily support from the Midland Kru Day Program to manage various types of emotions, including frustrations in uncertain or unfamiliar situations, and learning how to navigate people who may be in her “space”.

Finely continues to build her confidence by leading music activities at the Community House, developing her business logo, increasing financial literacy, organizing supplies and space, while addressing interpersonal skills (problem solving and team work).
